This sample demonstrates the Spreadsheet merge cells feature and how merging to create clear section headers and improve the visual layout of your data.
The Merge Cells feature allows you to combine two or more adjacent cells into a single larger cell. This is useful for creating section headers, labels, or visually organizing data in your spreadsheet.
In this demo, you can merge cells by selecting them and choosing merge options from the Home → Merge section in the ribbon
The merge cells feature supports multiple merge options:
- Merge & Center - Combines the selected cells into one and centers the content horizontally for better visual presentation.
- Merge Across - Merges cells horizontally in each row of the selection, creating separate merged cells per row for structured layouts.
- Merge Cells - Combines the selected cells into a single cell without changing text alignment, preserving original formatting.
- Unmerge - Splits a merged cell back into its original individual cells content remains in the top-left cell after unmerging.
You can enable or disable merging using the AllowMerge property. To merge or unmerge cells programmatically, use the MergeAsync, or revert a merge with UnmergeAsync.
For more detailed information about merge cells, refer to the merge cells documentation.
